About Bucket of Acid

Scientologists have a history of filing false police reports against Anonymous protestors, and Clearwater Scientologists are the worst for this. At a recent protest the Clearwater Police Department pulled two officers off of what they later informed us was a drug bust and had them bike a considerable distance down to where we were protesting by the Ft Harrison because Flag Security had told them our two protestors were cursing in front of small children. When the officers arrived and asked about the profanity, the FlagSec's exact words were, "They were being loud. And laughing."

However, no story matches the sheer insanity of the Bucket of Acid incident.

Anonymous likes its music at protests, and a new CD is always a cause for celebration. Ever since Anon's beginnings in Clearwater way back in February 2008, our traditional CD player has been a (ridiculously heavy) boombox made of neon green plastic. It's past the prime of life and is dented and scuffed around the edges, but its history makes it irreplaceable.

The reason for this occured at one of our earliest protests in our first year of protesting. One of our organizers was on foot on his way to the protest location. He was dressed for lulz, in a full suit and Guy Fawkes mask, and was carrying his boombox, which was at the time our only source for tunes. In what can only be described as the most facepalm-worthy event in history, he was stopped by a couple of officers who had the inenviable job of having to tell this protestor, "Yeah...we got a call about a masked man carrying a large bucket of acid...?"

Ever since then, it has been the case that if in Clearwater you are asked to bring someone the Bucket, they are not asking if you could fetch them a beach pail. Because our beloved Bucket is almost another Anon itself, it was only right that when the time came for Clearwater Anonymous to move to their own site, we remember our green acidic little lulzmachine.
